Weather and Malaria

The Eastern Cape in South Africa is a malaria free area. It has a moderate climate which makes for comfortable hunting particularly in the months of March to October which are our recommended months for hunting. Average temperatures during the early season March – May range from 15 – 30 degrees Celsius with these temperatures then dropping to on average 8 – 15 degrees Celsius in the June – July months and warming up again for the months of August – October. Please remember we do at times experience some extreme weather where temperatures can drop below zero particularly if on a mountain hunt.

The currency in South Africa is South African Rands. There are exchange bureaus in all towns and airports and also in most hotels. Be sure to exchange some currency for SA rands as you may want to buy souvenirs on your travels. Visa and Mastercard’s are accepted by the majority of places.

The electricity in South Africa is 220 volt. Please make sure that you check that your equipment charges accept 110 -220 volts or else you will need to bring an inverter from 220 volts to 110 volts. You will also require a pin plug that fits into the South African systems
